    Hey Michael,

First of all, Thanks for posting so many great videos! I have been doing web design for about 3 years now. I started out just using Photoshop and Dreamweaver and now I am working my way into using Illustrator too. So my question is, what made you decide to use Fireworks? Just curious, since I have never used Fireworks but am thinking about learning it as well.

  • mlwebco:

I started using Fireworks way back in the beginning because I got started using all Macromedia products, Flash, Dreamweaver, Freehand (similar to Illustrator), etc. and Fireworks was naturally the tool for graphics editing. I just got so used to it, I never switched. Then Adobe purchased Macromedia, then my life because easier. Fireworks now compatible with PSDs. I think Fireworks is so much lighter, allows you to do things much much faster, quicker. Plus, I always go against the rules. :)

Can you show a short example how to add animation to a billboard? Something like the car “ad” in this video?
    Thank you! :)

Another good one, left me with a couple questions. 1. Could you sometime show how to create the page curl? and 2. That latin (I think?) text, does it mean anything, and why do so many use it for text place holder?

  • mlwebco:

Man, you’re slipping. I actually have an old video on how to create the page curl :)

That latin text is just a standard text placeholder for mock-up. Someone came up with it and folks use it. :) …not sure what it means.

  • ghanes14:

Yeah been a hectic couple of days so my minds been in 100 more places than usual. I’ll check that out in the morning for sure.

Cool, the search for a translation continues! If only I knew latin xD.
